Witte de With is looking for a Curator/Producer
Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art seeks a Curator/Producer to play a key role in the conception, development, and implementation of its artistic programs. Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art is an international public institution with Rotterdam (the Netherlands) as its home base. Established in 1990, Witte de With has been commenting on the social and political predicament since its inception through the presentation of curated exhibitions, symposia, live events, educational programs, and a bold publishing arm.
The Curator/Producer works together with the Director to initiate, develop and manage Witte de With’s exhibitions and publications programme, and related projects. S/he is responsible for all aspects of the delivery and management of exhibitions and publications. In addition, it is expected that s/he will be hands-on, and contribute extensively to communications & marketing, and development, in liaison with internal and external partners.
Requirements
The successful candidate for this position will have an extensive knowledge of contemporary art and visual culture, high professional standards, management and leadership experience, a commitment to the mission of the organization, and global navigation skills.
–Curatorial or editorial background with three to five years in the field
–Professional intelligence
–Imagination, creativity, and initiative
–Practical and a hands-on attitude
–Strong interest in publications, online publications, new media and new ventures
–Strong network of artists and professional contacts
–Excellent organizational, fundraising, communication and especially interpersonal skills
–Team-player
–Flexible mind-set and time-wise
–Writes and speaks English fluently; knowledge of Dutch language preferred
The position is full-time and the start date immediate.
