BST stands for the initials of the band members’ surnames: Walter Berger (cello), Christian Schaeffer (violin) and Klaus Theweleit (guitar) and refers to the ‘mad cow disease’ BSE. “We prefer to continue using bows for shredding (or not) the world of sound. The instruments have been able to take it and still answer.” (Klaus Theweleit, author of cult books such as Male Fantasies [1987, original 1977] and Der Pocahontas-Komplex [1999])
