ARTISSIMA 16, the International Contemporary Art Fair in Turin, for the first time presents an accompanying programme of events focusing on a single theme: interaction between the visual arts and theatre. From 4 to 8 November 2009, world-premiere events – from plays to performances and concerts – featuring an extraordinary list of artists, will take place in five major city theaters.

ARTISSIMA16 will propose 127 galleries from all over the world along with 18 emerging artists selected by a team of curators – Aurélie Voltz, Jimena Acosta Romero, Adam Carr and Simone Menegoi – for Present Future, the special section of the fair devoted to emerging talents. Other curated projects in the fair will include Constellations, a museum-type exhibition of large size artworks selected by Heike Munder, THE STORE, by Adam Carr, a sort of mixture between a store and an exhibition, where it will be possible to buy artworks by young artists for a few euros and Artissima Cinema, a video program on historical and contemporary performances organized by Yann Chateigné Tytelman and RoseLee Goldberg.
