TEOR/éTica, a private, independent foundation created in 1999, works to strengthen research and production, and contribute to the dissemination of the contemporary artistic practices in Central America and the Caribbean, by establishing a strong regional exchange network connected to the rest of the world. Activities include exhibitions, curatorial projects, theoretical events, web site, editorial project and publications exchange, free access library and documentation centre, and artist archive.

Along its 10 years of existence, TEOR/éTica, located in the historical quarter of Barrio Amón, has developed one of the most dynamic and proactive initiatives in the region, with an international outreach and acknowledgement. During this time, TEORetica has become a centre for the generation of critical thought around contemporary artistic and social practices, through exhibitions, publications and documentary archive production.
