One of the most important exhibitions of contemporary Asian art, the 2nd annual Asian Contemporary Art Fair New York (ACAF NY), will be held from Thursday, November 6 through Monday, November 10, 2008, at Pier 92, 52nd Street and 12th Avenue, in New York City. More than 60 international galleries and non-profit organizations will show a wide range of contemporary work by artists from countries including China, Japan, Korea, India, Bangladesh, Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam.

Exhibitors
Over 60 leading galleries from 14 countries, as well as several art organizations and institutions, will exhibit at the Asian Contemporary Art Fair New York. Please see www.acafny.com for full exhibitors list.

Opening Night Preview
The invitation only opening night preview will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. A fashion show by the award-winning designer Angel Chang and other events are planned.

Special Exhibitions
ACAF NY
has commissioned two special exhibitions — one from Central Asia and the Middle East, and one from China. Given Difference, curated by Dr. Charles Merewether, will examine art from Central Asian and Middle Eastern countries; Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Georgia. My Bone, Flesh and Skin, curated by Feng Boyi, will examine contemporary Chinese artists’ paintings and sculpture related to the human body.

A number of panel discussions and lectures are also planned on issues relating to Asian contemporary art.
