The fourth and final episode of the second edition of If I Can’t Dance… focusing on Feminist Legacies and Potentials in Contemporary Art Practice will open with a large-scale exhibition at the MuHKA [Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp] this October combining elements from the collection with a series of works by invited artists. The exhibition assembles works by artists of various generations: artists who were expressive about feminist issues during the 60s and 70s, such as Sanja Ivekovic, Lili Dujourie and Jef Geys; artists who built up a critical body of work during the 80s, such as Jutta Koether; the generation born around 1968 including among others Hito Steyerl, Cathy Wilkes and Karl Holmqvist; and the youngest generation including among others Katarina Zdjelar and Falke Pisano.

To accompany the exhibition If I Can’t Dance… has devised a project, which unfolds over three cities and comprises a film programme at MuHKA_media [Antwerp], a symposium at De Balie [Amsterdam] and a performance programme at the Huis a/d Werf [Utrecht]. As a rolling collaborative and critical platform If Cant Dance… is delighted to work again with many of the art and theatre institutions which have partnered us in this two year exploration in the creation of a transnational and large scale programme this autumn and winter.
