Platform Garanti has been invited as one of two not-for-profit spaces to participate in Frieze Projects 2006. Our project collecting point is a drop off point for art publications, periodicals and other materials that will be displayed for reference at the Frieze Art Fair and then shipped to Istanbul and made permanently available for public research at Platform.
At Frieze, you can find us at M24, which is somewhere between the Guardian and Bidoun, quite near the café, next to Project and opposite the Frieze Lounge. You are most welcome to donate catalogues, monographs, periodicals and digital formats to the collecting point.
If you are not able to be at Frieze this year, but wish to donate publications, then please send them directly to Platform, or bring them along with you on your next visit to Istanbul.
Over the last five years, with the passionate support of our colleagues, we have been able to build a strong public library for contemporary art at Platform. The invitation to participate in Frieze Projects has allowed us to develop this effort substantially and for this opportunity Platform and those who use our resources are extremely grateful.
