The Mexican contemporary art fair’s second edition will take place in Mexico City from April 21st to 24th , 2005.
The deadline for applications is November 15th, 2004
MACO | MEXICO ARTE CONTEMPORANEO , the mexican contemporary art fair will take place in Mexico City from April 21st to 24th , 2005.
MACO | MEXICO ARTE CONTEMPORANEO will count with the attendance of international contemporary art galleries which will be located in the main section of the fair.
NEW PROPOSALS section will present young galleries with emerging artists.
PROJECTS section presented for the first time in this edition will present site specific projects.
Local and international magazines and publications related with contemporary art will be included in the publications section.
Exhibitors will be selected by the following committee: Matthias Arndt (Arndt & Partner, Berlin) Patricia Ortiz Monasterio (OMR, Mexico D,F,) Luis Adelantado (Luis Adelantado, Valencia) Michele Maccarone (Maccarone Inc., New York) and Daniel Castro Silva (Nara Roesler, Sao Paulo)
The INTERNATIONAL COLLECTORS PROGRAM will again be organized parallel to the fair. 120 collectors from the five continents (private and responsible of museum and corporate collections) will be invited to a social-cultural program. The objective of this program is the interrelation in every moment between the participating galleries, local and international collectors and curators.
The venue chosen for the fair, Expo Reforma is located in the heart of the city, one block from Reforma Avenue, the Angel Square and the Zona Rosa. Exhibitors will be concentrated in this convention hall with more than 7.000sqm divided in 5 floors.
The main objective of MACO | MEXICO ARTE CONTEMPORANEO is to promote collecting, the internationalization of contemporary art in our country and the interrelation between Mexican collectors, foreign collectors, curators, galleries and institutions.
