ART BRUSSELS
Coming with the first days of spring …

ARTBRUSSELS: Coming with the first days of spring …

From 4 to 8 April 2003, the ARTBRUSSELS fair will welcome over 25,000
contemporary art lovers, collectors and professionals. This 21st edition
will once again confirm the international status of the event. A total
of 145 galleries from all four corners of the world will bring life to the
Brussels Expo, while the aim of the fair itself remains unchanged
– to combine quality, intimacy and openness to a wider public.

ARTBRUSSELS, first created in 1968 is now a major
international forum for contemporary art. The event has retained only the quintessential
features of the original small contemporary art fair – its intimacy, its
meticulous selection and its quality.

Some 145 galleries, carefully selected by an international selection
committee from among more than 250 applications, will be present at
ARTBRUSSELS this year. 72 % of the galleries represented will be foreign,
compared with 28% from Belgium. Many of the participants come
from neighbouring Germany (34), followed by 20 French
galleries. However, it
is the Swiss, the English and the Americans who are
expected to arouse great curiosity. ARTBRUSSELS 2003 will present a skilful blend of
leading names and young market players. It is worth noting that these young
exhibitors will again be grouped together in the ‘Young
Galleries’ area, which aims to show new upcoming artists.

Once again this year, ‘one-man-shows’ will have pride
of place. With 20 selected ‘one-man-shows’, ARTBRUSSELS aims to
present the very latest trends in contemporary art and to foster innovation.

ARTBRUSSELS has built up its reputation both on the quality of
the exhibitors and the quality of its visitors. Apart from the important
group of Belgian collectors, professionals, curators and collectors from all
over Europe visit the fair in large numbers.

In addition to a special welcome these privileged guests will also enjoy
a wide-ranging cultural programme, including visits to no fewer than three
contemporary art museums.

Coming with the first days of spring, ARTBRUSSELS welcomes
professionals, collectors and art lovers to the capital of Europe to celebrate
contemporary art.
