Gospel Fest
A retrospective exhibition featuring art of the Africa Diaspora, Caribbean and South Floridas rich heritage. The Lyric was built by Geder Walker, an African American businessman, after returning from visiting opera houses in Paris. The classical detailing and applied decorative ornamentation helped make the Lyric Theater the most beautiful building in Overtown. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
