The 34th edition of Arte Fiera Art First, the first Italian art fair on Modern and Contemporary art, takes place in Bologna from January 29 to 31st 2010.

Arte Fiera Art First features more than 200 galleries from around the world, providing international audience with the best of modern and contemporary art, from the 50′s to the present days, up to cutting-edge researches. Young Galleries is the section within the Fair to discover younger and emerging artists representing by galleries that have been in market for less than 5 years.

The ongoing attention of Arte Fiera to art market trends and collecting issue is underlined by the program of conferences in the Art Talks space, focused on three key themes: The Private Museum, The Corporate Collection and Art as a Business, in collaboration with Gruppo 24Ore. Among others, important Italian and international speakers such as Ella Cisneros, CIFO, Miami; Mami Kataoka, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo; Sylvain Levy, DSL Foundation, Paris; Alfio Puglisi Cosentino, Foundation Puglisi Cosentino, Catania; Tanja Zepf, Würth Art Forum, Rome; Marcello Smarrelli, Ermanno Casoli Foundation/ Elica, Fabriano, Italy; Vincent Pomarède, Painting Department, Musée du Louvre, Paris; Fabio Roversi Monaco, President Carisbo Foundation, Bologna.

The winner of the 4th edition of Euromobil Prize addressed to Italian and foreign artists under 30 whose works are exhibited at Arte Fiera Art First, will be selected by a jury and announced during the fair.

Everyday the Art Café space hosts the latest editorial news by publishers and participating galleries. A meeting point for artists, curators, critics and art lovers.

Bologna Art First, confirming the collaboration between the City of Bologna and Arte Fiera Art First, is for the first time a curatorial project by the German born curator Julia Draganovic, features from January 29th till the end of February a unique group show of site specific installations by artists working with the participating galleries at the Fair.

The show Here and Now propose a theme referring to the necessity to connect Italy’s impressive past to what happens today, display in more than 10 venues all over the city. Among others: Palazzo d’Accursio, the Archaeological Museum, the Archiginnasio and the Gugliemo Marconi International Airport.

For the third year Arte Fiera OFF ‘the case’ of all collateral events features exhibitions, film screenings, festivals and performances spread in many locations in Bologna and in the region of Emilia-Romagna.

Saturday 30 January Art White Night changes the colour of the night and transform the historical city centre of Bologna into a grand venue for contemporary art, with special evening hours till midnight for museums, art galleries, historical buildings, concerts and performances in the streets.
