Ane Hjort Guttu’s film This Place is Every Place is a fictive dialogue between two women in Tensta. The Arab Spring works as a backdrop for their conversation, and the film establishes a connection between the global protest movements of the last three years and the riots in Husby, Tensta, and other places in Sweden that took place in May 2013. Simultaneously, This Place is Every Place is a seductive, beautifully shot study of the relationship between political and personal crises.

Dave Hullfish Bailey uses the utopian ideas of the 1960s as a starting point for his installation School Section. The installation includes sculptures in the form of machines that don’t work and invented relationships between the US’s land use and its public school system. The artist finds his way into a landscape of social, political, and economical tensions.

How do you create a qualitative society based on a new reality? The New Model: An Enquiry is a research project initiated by Lars Bang Larsen and Maria Lind in 2011 that investigates the heritage from Palle Nielsen’s legendary project The Model: A Model for a Qualitative Society (1968), which transformed the Moderna Museet into an adventure playground for children.

Tensta Museum: Continues is a continuation of the exhibition Tensta Museum: Reports from New Sweden, which was on view at Tensta konsthall in the fall of 2013 and spring of 2014. It deals with history and memory in Tensta, in relation to the site and to the people who live and work here. This coming fall includes  three thematic evenings focusing on the work of Eritrean author Mekonen Tekeste  (in collaboration with Maria Langefors and Hela Människan, Fetzum Berhe, and Eyob Tecle); art and literature walks in Tensta (in collaboration with Tensta library); and The Silent University language cafés in which the participants practice Arabic and Swedish with Fahyma Alnablsi.

On Wednesday, October 22 at 18:30, there will be a conversation between the artists Ane Hjort Guttu and Dave Hullfish Bailey and the cultural journalist and author Gunilla Lundahl, who worked in close collaboration with Palle Nielsen on The Model.
