On November 5th a new nonprofit contemporary art space in Los Angeles, LAXART, will launch with a party and silent auction including work of over 100 artists at MC at 6086 Comey Avenue LA CA 90034. The donated work reflects the program of the new exhibition space featuring both emerging and established artists working locally, nationally and internationally. Set for an opening in January 2006 with a solo exhibition of Los Angeles artist Daniel J. Martinez, LAXART will find its home at 2640 South La Cienega LA CA 90034.

The benefit on November 5th will be punctuated with a special performance in collaboration with Macy Grays organization One by One a group aiding families in crisis from Hurricane Katrina. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go directly to One by One.

LAXART will be auctioning paintings, sculpture, drawing, photographs and video by:
