The Armory Show is the most prestigious international art fair held annually in New York City devoted to showcasing the most important artworks of the 20th and 21st centuries. In its thirteen years The Armory Show with The Armory Show – Modern has become an international institution, combining a selection of the world’s leading galleries with an exceptional program of art events and exhibitions throughout New York City during Armory Arts Week.

Piers 92 & 94 will feature 275 leading contemporary and modern art galleries from 31 countries presenting an exceptional range of solo presentations, curated group exhibitions and unique installations. This year marks the second edition of our Focus section, the invitation-only component of The Armory Show that highlights the very best in emerging and established galleries from a notable art community. The 2011 Armory Focus: Latin America will highlight 18 dealers from Latin America.

This year, The Armory Show and VOLTA NY are collaborating with ARTPROJX CINEMA. Daily screenings at the School of Visual Arts Theatre will feature over 80 artists’ films and videos from over 40 galleries participating at both fairs. Please visit their website for a complete schedule at www.artprojx.com/cinema.

Every year Armory Arts Weeks grows in popularity and influence. Through partnerships with New York museums and cultural institutions, The Armory Show and Armory Arts Week, has made New York City a destination in March. “The Armory Show is the catalyst that brings all the events during Armory Arts Week together. Each year more events join the week and as it grows it becomes more inclusive with each edition,” notes Katelijne De Backer, executive director of The Armory Show.
