Kunstnernes Hus (Artists’ House), is organised as a foundation owned by Norwegian visual artists. It was established in 1930 and its main activities are the management of its premises in Wergelandsveien 17 in Oslo and organizing exhibitions.

Programming
Kunstnernes Hus aims to be an open, inclusive institution that encourages debate and provides the public with opportunities to enjoy and study contemporary art.
Kunstnernes Hus is an institution managed by artists for the purpose of exhibiting Norwegian and international contemporary art. It is an international program that works with artists at varied stages in their careers, including those who have already received international acclaim.
Kunstnernes Hus presents approximately 10 to 15 exhibitions each year.

Public programming
Kunstnernes Hus holds regular guided tours every Sunday. 14. The guided tours follow the house’s other programs and is included in admission. A guided tour lasts 45 minutes. It also offers various public seminars and lecture programs.
Educational Programming
In addition to regular guided tours, Kunstnernes Hus also presents a special program for children–miniHuset (The mini “House”), a studio programme–W 17–The project, which started in 2008 and will run until 2014, to offer Norwegian artists–or other artists working in Norway–ateliers, production support and opportunities for exhibiting their works.
Kunstnernes Hus’ program, mini-house, is a newly cooperation with the Oslo School of Fine Arts. mini house allows children between the ages of 6 and 10 to help produce a small exhibition. In the mini house special guided tours with subsequent workshops will take place, where children can create work based on the current exhibition
Spaces
Kunstnernes Hus contains four main spaces for exhibition purposes. Ground floor: Two rooms, each on 115 m2, ceiling height 5 m. Second floor: Two rooms, each on 268 m2, ceiling height 10 m. In addition to this there is a separate room for lectures, and video screenings. Kunstnernes Hus has well equipped workshops suited for carpentry and paint work.
