Hugh Lane Gallery is the oldest gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in the world, and currently houses the foremost public collection of contemporary art in Ireland. Located in Dublin’s City Centre, in Parnell Square, Hugh Lane Gallery, (originally named Municipal Gallery of Modern Art), contains one of Ireland’s most exciting collections of modern and contemporary Irish and international art. It is also the home of Francis Bacon’s Studio. Founded in 1908 by Sir Hugh Lane with an exceptional foundation and spirit, Hugh Lane Gallery continues to play a very significant cultural role in Ireland.
