A hybrid public institution located in Grenoble, France, MAGASIN des horizons is a platform for reflection, a site of exchange accessible to all, a permacultural space, and an artistic third-location.

Supporting a multidisciplinary perspective, MAGASIN des horizons invites brokers of ideas, artists, activists, hackers, gardeners and rogue philosophers… to stimulate and encourage new ways and forms of addressing contemporary issues. Its activity consists in implementing ideas, engaging with artists and the public, and fostering cultural exchanges to experiment possible new interactions between the art center, its inhabitants and its surroundings.

Alongside its cultural and artistic programming, MAGASIN des horizons also experiments in new professional practices combining art and society via its yearly professional training program, “Ateliers des horizons.” Fostering a reflection on social changes, evolving professional practices and political challenges faced by the cultural, social and educational sectors, the “Ateliers des horizons” training program uses cross-disciplinary tools from humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, visual arts and performative arts.

Open to all, the “Ateliers des horizons” yearly program consists of:

- A forum for thinking and multidisciplinary proposals
- A principle of collaborative training
- A balance between bodily practice and theory
- A focus on 3 main areas of research : Knowledge and transmission / Bodies under surveillance / Collective projects
