Art , Design and Fashion team up to benefit the New Museum of Contemporary Art The New Museum of Contemporary Art will host its annual New Group Party on November 15, 2004 from 9pm to midnight at the Calvin Klein flagship store at 654 Madison Avenue. The event, hosted by the Museum's young membership group-the New Group-will feature original home furnishings from Calvin Klein personalized by 12 contemporary artists. All proceeds from the event will benefit the New Museum of Contemporary Art. In addition, the event will feature entertainment by special musical guest Buck 65. In conjunction with the event, a select group of contemporary artists have been invited to customize an item from the Calvin Klein Home Collection, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art to be sold on November 15. Items on sale will include "personalized" furnishings by Ghada Amer, Hope Atherton, Ross Bleckner, Jessica Craig-Martin, Lucky de Bellevue, Toland Grinnell, Sean Mellyn, Erwin Redl, Alexis Rockman, Ruth Root, Tom Sachs and Julianne Swartz. Pieces will be on view prior to the event at the Calvin Klein store (654 Madison Avenue) from Tuesday, November 9 through Monday, November 15. Store/viewing hours are: Mon-Wed, Fri, Sat: 10am-6pm; Thurs: 10am-7pm and Sun: noon-6pm. The New Group Party 04 is co-chaired by Yvonne Force Villareal and Carlos Mota.
