El arte que viene/The Art to Come
Presentation of the book on October 8th, 2002 at 7 p.m.at the Palais
de
Tokyo
Written by Paco Barragán, El arte que viene/ The Art to Come
offers a
broad overview of the international art scene. It shows the work of 159
artists from all around the world, all of whom are listed
alphabetically.
Displayed in more than 600 illustrations and introduced with a small
text,
it documents it the cutting-edge trends in art.
El arte que viene / The Art to Come is the result of five years
of
travelling and seeing work mainly in galleries, studios, fairs and
museums. It puts its money on a great many young beginners who are not
very known internationally, also offering the work of some intermediate
and more mature artists. El arte que viene / The Art to Come is
above all
an independent vision of the art of the XXIst century.
Paco Barragán (1963, Oviedo, Spain) is an independent journalist and
curator based in Madrid. His writings have appeared in national and
international art magazines and newspapers. He is a regular contributor
to
Lápiz, and the newspaper ABC.
El arte que viene / The Art to Come has been sponsored by
Altadis, as main
sponsor, and FRAME (Finnish Fund for the Arts), DCA (Danish Contemporary
Art Foundation), MEIAC (Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte
Contemporáneo, Badajoz, Spain), and the private collectors from Puerto
Rico Diana y Moisés Berezdivin, José B. Andreu, John T. Belk III.
