Charley 01 is now available in specialty art and photography
bookstores
around the world. Due to high demand, the first print run of Charley
01
sold out in a few months. Here comes the re-print, as rough as ever.
Charley is a machine for redistribution, a mechanism for
spreading and
exploiting information, rumors, and communication. Like most
information,
it is partial, unstable, and untrustworthy. There are no hierarchies and
no favorites in Charley. Charley is a pre-digested combine, with
pages
assembled from catalogues, brochures, press clips, postcards, and other
visuals. Leading artists, curators, and critics from around the world
suggested four hundred artists, and each is represented by one page in
Charley.
Charley was published by Les presses du réel, in Dijon, France
(les.presses.du.reel@wanadoo.fr) and is available in the U.S. through
D.A.P. Distributed Art Publishers (T: 212 627-1999; F: 212 627 9484;
http://www.artbook.com) and in
Europe through Idea Books (T: +31 20 62 26
154; F: +33 20 6209299; idea@ideabooks.nl)
ISBN: 1-56466-092-3.
