”LEAN AND MEAN”
Elegant New Halls
Denser Participant Count

ART FORUM BERLIN 2003 is set to be presented in a dynamic and courageous new form.

Moving this year into striking and compact new exhibition halls, ART FORUM BERLIN adds a new drive to the lively and focussed impact upon which visitors and exhibitors have come to rely. ART FORUM BERLIN will now take place in the sun-flooded, Richard Ermisch-designed Halls 18 - 20 of the Berlin Exhibition Grounds where an exclusive selection of 101 international galleries, "freestyle" stands and art editions will be on view from October 1st through 5th, 2003.

Germany's premier event for contemporary art will now be situated in the long sought out ambiance most appropriate to its character. With its move into these distinctive and elegant halls, the fair will see a turn to a denser and more competitive field of exhibitors. An annually changing jury will select the most qualified international galleries of the emerging generation as well as established representatives of the contemporary art scene for this precisely designed art fair. First class exhibition conditions and a pioneering spirit are the trademarks of this brave and innovative fair for contemporary art which since its founding in 1996 has consistently shown the most consequent positions in contemporary art.

An exclusive VIP program, compelling panel discussions on the pulse of the international art scene alongside exceptionally composed stands make ART FORUM BERLIN the highlight of the fall season and an essential meeting point for all collectors, curators and connoisseurs dedicated to keeping abreast of the most recent trends in contemporary art.

Parallel to the fair, Germany's capital once again offers numerous exciting exhibitions and other events in the course of the kunstherbst berlin including the exhibitions: Berlin-Moscow / Moscow-Berlin, 1950-2000 at Martin-Gropius-Bau; Tom Sachs’ Nutsy’s World at Deutsche Guggenheim Berlin; Private/Corporate: A Dialogue of the Collections Ileana Sonnabend and DaimlerChrysler at DaimlerChrysler Contemporary; Sue de Beer at Kunst-Werke Berlin; the group exhibition Australian Standard as well as solo shows by Ron Mueck and Dayanita Singh at Hamburger Bahnhof.

ART FORUM BERLIN 2003 - The International Fair for Contemporary Art - will take place for the eighth time from October 1st – 5th, 2003 at the Berlin Exhibition Grounds. The preview will be on Tuesday, September 30th, 2003.
