Celebrating its 25th anniversary, International Artexpo is quickly approaching. Running from February 27 - March 3, 2003 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City, the show offers a multitude of exciting new events, appearances and exhibits by world famous and celebrity artists, as well as a new and exciting conference program by leading art authorities and well known talents. Additionally, this year boasts Home Is Where Your Art Is and the first annual Rising Star Contest.

With over 145,000 square feet of artwork, our 2003 show will satisfy the buying needs of everyone. No other art fair delivers a broader base of exhibitors to a larger audience of trade buyers and collectors. Work from more than 50 countries and 500 exhibitors will be exhibited to more than 40,000 attendees. International Artexpo’s extraordinary conference program features renowned authorities such as keynote speaker, Hugh Hildsley, executive vice president of Sotheby’s North and South America, and senior director of Sotheby’s Canada. Hildsley will deliver his annotations on “Trends In Art”-Its Evolution Over Twenty-five Years, on Friday, February 28, 2003, from 9:00am-10:00am (open to the trade only). He will present an overview of the most significant cultural influences of the past two and a half decades, and how future trends might impact the ever-changing art industry. On Saturday, March 2, 2003 (open to the general public), celebrity fashion icon Leon Hall will present a highly informative yet lighthearted lecture entitled “Framing Emergency”. Mr. Hall will share his refined perspective on art and style and how they converge when trying to find the “right” framing technique.

In a groundbreaking announcement, International Artexpo, announced that House Beautiful magazine, the leading authority on home décor and interior design, will be the patron sponsor of the 2003 "Home Is Where Your Art Is" program at Artexpo. Home Is Where Your Art Is will demonstrate how art & interior design complement one another in this expanded and dynamic display of 4 rooms designed by top designers, including Tracy Bross, Paul Dipippa, Mel Jones Jr. and Tom Charnock.

International Artexpo carries forward its mission of defining popular art into the future by continually cultivating and encouraging the artistic spirit. The first Annual Rising Star Contest will offer attendees the opportunity to preview young new talent just emerging on the art scene. Voted for by Artexpo exhibitors and attendees, the three Artexpo Rising Stars chosen to participate in this year’s show are Mary Coble from George Washington University, Frederick A. Jesser IV from Savannah College of Art and Design, and Lara Hoke from Carnegie Mellon University.
