Allan McCollum’s THANKS are 3 3/4” l x 1” h tablets
bearing the word
“THANKS”, sold in packs of five, each in a different color,
red, yellow,
green, black and gold. Inspired by McCollum’s renowned Visible
Markers
Series, in which McCollum explores his notion of the art object as
something that obtains it’s significance through the process of
its
exchange, rather than merely through its making and its presentation.
The
THANKS lend a physical form to a very common verbal gesture.
Allan McCollum has exhibited extensively in one-person and group
exhibitions both nationally and internationally. His work has been
featured recently in the exhibitions “Museum as Muse” and
“Objects of
Desire: The Modern Still Life” at the Museum of Modern Art, at the
White
House in the exhibition “Twentieth Century American
Sculpture”, and in
Paris at the Pompidou Center’s “L’Informe: Mode
d’Emploi”. McCollum’s
work appears in the permanent collections of 63 Museums, including the
Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco,
The Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, The Metropolitan Museum of
Art, New York, The Pompidou Center in Paris, the Sprengel Museum in
Hanover, Germany and the New Tokyo Metropolitan Museum in Japan.
Bozart was established in 1996 to focus on the development of
stimulating products designed by actively exhibiting contemporary
artists.
Each world-renowned artist and designer that embraces a project brings a
