The residency is a collaboration between Borås Museum of Modern Art, Kultur i Väst, Region Västra Götaland and Iaspis, the Swedish Art Grants Committee’s international programme for visual- and applied artists. Our ambition is to facilitate the work of an international visual artist with a moving images production. The residency administration aim to create a production network that spans over the region’s art scene as well as the region’s film production facilities.
The residency supports an international artist’s moving image project with a three month long scholarship, travels, accommodation, project funding and resources, regional and national networks. The residency can be adapted after the artist’s wishes and needs, and include meetings with artists based in Sweden, filmmakers, and industry, as well as access to studios and technology at the forefront.
The application shall comprise of a description of a film project, as well as an account of required resources. The project selected may be in various faces of production, idea, filming, editing, post production. During the residence the administration will help facilitate the realization of the project, through means of professional contacts, collaborations and regional connections. There is as a substantial production budget to enable this.
The artist will have a combined studio and apartment at the cultural center Konstepidemin in central Gothenburg. The Center comprises of 130 artists’ studios, three galleries, a restaurant and more.
