Starting with this admissions season, students of the MDes degree program will have the opportunity to select a focus of study in Exhibition and Narrative Environments. Both options share a 75-credit curriculum with five Option specific courses.
The study of Exhibition and Narrative Environments has been a part of our departmental studio offerings for many years. Our department has hosted annual studios specific to the design of the narrative environment that featured collaborations with other organizations, departments and institutions. The new program on Exhibition and Narrative Environments consists of an already existing MDes curriculum supported by courses in the departments such as the RISD Museum, the departments of History of Art and Visual Culture, Graphic Design and Digital Media as well as collaborations with Brown University.
