MA programme
The MA programme in Design is a two-year full-time programme comprising four semesters. 26 students are accepted each year, the programme is taught in English. Independent practice has a central place in all semesters and is the programme’s main component. Each student defines his or her own project, which is developed over two years through individual studies, experimentation and discussion with lecturers and fellow students.
MA students are included in KHiB’s artistic research environment with academic staff and research fellows. Students’ own practice and individual project work is integrated with and supported through individual tutoring, group tutoring and seminars related to three main research areas: living together, telling stories, shaping environments. The programme also offers a wide range of subject specific or cross disciplinary seminars, workshops and projects.
Workshops and resources
MA project can be formulated and developed within the subject areas Visual Communication; and Furniture and Spatial Design/Interior Architecture. KHiB has workshops, technical expertise and tutoring competence within a wide range of disciplines. KHiB provides individual work space for all MA Design students. Every spring the final year MA students organize a public exhibition of their work. This is an important opportunity for the graduating students to present their work to a broad public.
