The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice Provost of Graduate Studies and Research.
Founded in 1826 and located in Baltimore, MD., MICA is the oldest continuously degree-granting professional college of art and design in the nation and is considered to be among the finest. Building on the strengths of MICA’s innovative programs, well-equipped campus, and world-class faculty, the Vice Provost of Graduate Studies and Research will lead the College in the creation of a vision for graduate study and research in the future.
The Vice Provost of Graduate Studies and Research is the chief academic officer of the Division of Graduate Studies, which currently includes eleven certificate and degree programs and three research centers. Reporting to the Provost, s/he acts as the principal spokesperson for Graduate Studies within and beyond the MICA community, works with program directors within the Division to ensure continued educational excellence, and oversees all research activities at the college.
The successful candidate should be a creative leader, experienced educator and proven administrator with expertise in curriculum design as well as development and oversight of research initiatives.
