This year, History of Art and Design students at Pratt:
examined Veronese frescos atop scaffolding in the Church of San Sebastiano, Venice;
visited Philip Johnson’s Glass House, Connecticut;
listened to Kara Walker discuss her work;
studied silent film with live piano accompaniment;
met with curators from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York;
curated an exhibition of new work in a Bushwick, Brooklyn loft;
reviewed the Venice Biennale;
wrote on contemporary African Art;
analyzed an ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead in the conservation lab at the Brooklyn Museum;
and studied with exceptional faculty on our landmarked Brooklyn campus—recently cited by Architectural Digest as one of “Ten Campuses with the Best Architecture.”
