Program
With MECA’s trimester system, students complete their degrees over six consecutive semesters in two years: two summer, two fall, and two spring terms. The program culminates in a 7,500-word published thesis and group exhibition adjudicated by a distinguished panel of internal and external examiners.
The MFA at MECA is a fully accredited graduate program designed for artists whose emerging, mid-career and mature practices demand a flexible, responsive, and rigorous program of studio and academic courses. Our curriculum places equal value on studio practice, individual research, and critical analysis. Our interdisciplinary approach encourages students to think beyond traditional boundaries and formats. MECA’s unique medium residency structure helps students gain the tools they need to build a sustainable lifelong practice.
