The University College will be offering two additional MA pathways in Contemporary Performance and Illustration in 2010; complementing a flourishing MA portfolio of Animation, Costume, Fine Art, Photography, Graphic Design, and Interactive Media.
MA Contemporary Performance
The Contemporary Performance pathway will offer the opportunity to focus on theoretical and practical approaches to this discipline, to explore a broad range of methodologies, and to strengthen individual performance–making skills.
MA Illustration
The Illustration pathway will encourage practitioners to question the nature of their own practice, its context and place within the creative industries and beyond. It explores the relationship between illustrator and author, audience/artifice, and site or context and the contemporary blurring of boundaries across disciplines.
The MA Programme
The distinctive characteristic of the University College’s Postgraduate programme is that it provides students with the challenging task of engaging with the subject disciplines in order to define their individual approach to their practice. It is the opportunity for students to build on their achievements and to study at an advanced level; to deepen their knowledge and their ability to focus on their chosen field in relation to the key aspects that inform it. Students from all pathways study together creating the potential for innovation and collaboration about ideas and research methods. The particular expertise and range of subject disciplines at the University College will encourage a high level of creative thinking and original output.
