Following the award of an AHRC Speculative Research Grant to Professor Valerie Fraser, the Department of Art History and Theory wishes to appoint a Research Officer (post-doctoral or equivalent) to work on a study of the history and historiography of Modern and Contemporary Latin American art in the UK. This appointment would suit an emerging scholar interested in developing research spanning the fields of curatorship and contemporary art history and theory. Working with Professor Fraser and SRF Dr Isobel Whitelegg, the successful candidate will have particular responsibility for investigating the presence of Latin American art in the UK over the last ten years. This will involve carrying out archival research and conducting interviews with selected artists, curators and academics.
Appointment to this part-time (0.8fte), one year fixed-term post, will be made at £24,402 per annum, pro rata.
Closing date: 13 March 2007
