The Faculty aims at combining art and science and pursues this aim both in research and education, focusing in particular on research by performing artists, since they are in a unique position when it comes to the analysis and comparison of theory and practice. Within this context, the Faculty is developing a Master’s Programme in Photographic Studies.

The successful candidate is expected to
-Actively take part in the Photographic Studies Programme by preparing and teaching courses;
-Test and evaluate his/her own courses;
-Conduct research based on an individual research plan following consultation with the Faculty Dean;
-Acquire funding for research;
-Present research results in the form of publications, presentations and exhibitions;
-Act as co-supervisor to PhD students and encourage them in their research;
-Take on administrative tasks in the future Photographic Studies Programme as well as coordinate the content and development of the educational programme.
The successful candidate must
-Have an extensive network of contacts in museum and/or research circles;
-Be an inspiring teacher, as well as an active and stimulating participant in establishing the new studies programme;
-Have a solid research track record, apparent in a substantial list of international publications;
-(By preference) have completed, or almost completed, a PhD degree with a specialisation in theory of photography in the field of art history, sociology, anthropology or other;
-Have a proven interest in the relationship of photography and the media;
-Be able to teach both on a Master’s and a PhD level;
-Have proven didactic abilities;
-Have a good command of the English language.

Terms and Conditions of Employment
The position corresponds to level UD2 (lecturer 2) with a gross monthly salary varying from minimum 2,179.00 Euro to maximum 4,027.00 Euro (full-time rate).
This is a temporary position, for a period of two years. An extension of this period is possible.
