Bergen Kunsthall is pleased to announce highlights of our forthcoming exhibition programme for 2017/18.
The season opens with O Superman to Girls, Tricky. I am here, where are you? On Vocal Performance—a group exhibition organised by Mark Beasley and featuring works by Laurie Anderson, Steve McQueen & Tricky, Nic Bullen (Napalm Death), Moor Mother, Black Quantum Futurism, The Poetics (Mike Kelley and Tony Oursler), Jem Cohen & Ian Mackaye, Tony Oursler, Lizzi Bougatsos (Gang Gang Dance), Stephen O’Malley (Sunn O)))) and Atilla Csihar.
It is followed in November by an exhibition of new works created especially for Bergen Kunsthall by Magali Reus, Hot Cottons. The show is a collaboration with South London Gallery, where it will be re-configured and re-presented in spring 2018.
Alongside Reus’s show, in our NO.5 space, we are showing two recent video works by Scottish artist Charlotte Prodger, BRIDGIT and Stoneymollan Trail.
In January 2018 we are delighted to present a large scale exhibition by Joachim Koester, which includes a new film work Maybe This Act, This Work, This Thing co-commissioned with Camden Arts Centre, London, and STUK — House for Dance, Image & Sound, Leuven, and a programme of live and performance works realised in collaboration with Borealis Festival.
Finally, in May 2018 we present an exhibition of new photographs and video work by Norwegian artist Torbjørn Rødland. Rødland has been selected as this years Bergen International Festival Artist and will be presenting a major new body of work across the Kunsthall galleries.
All of these exhibitions will be accompanied by new publications. Please check the website for more details.
