2017 Transart Achievement Award
The Transart Achievement Award is granted to one artist who embodies and practices the core mission of the Transart Institute: positioning itself in the gaps where art practice, knowledge and research processes operate; in the tensions between, across, through and beyond recognized paradigms; and promoting peace through art, learning, dialogue and social engagement. Recipients are honored for their efforts and receive an award of 1000 USD.
Transart Achievement Award
Transart Institute is proud to announce that a true ambassador of this ethos, alumna Honi Ryan (MFA 2015) is the recipient of the inaugural Transart Achievement Award in recognition of her ongoing dedication to active engagement through art, travel and collaboration. Honi is an Australian artist currently living in Germany and France, and her recent projects working with artists and communities in Pakistan show how one artist might make a significant contribution—in the short term of her presence and over prolonged periods by her example—through collaborative works, dialogue, and teaching. Honi’s dedication to living as a nomadic transartist manifests how a single artist creates and effects participation, access and difference.
