Tirana International Film Festival is proud to present two solo screenings: Fani Zguro’s In A Blind of An Eye and Pipilotti Rist’s Early Works IV, in collaboration with Gallery On The Move and Tirana Art Center. In a Blind of An Eye consists in the presentation of Fani Zguro’s videos, 2006–14 (from Broken Threads to Fireflies), and Early Works IV consists in the presentation of one channel videos by Pipilotti Rist, 1987–95 (from I’m Not the Girl Who Misses Much to I’m a Victim of This Song). These two screenings are part of the Video-Art Program of 14th Tirana International Film Festival from November 3 until November 11, 2016.

Pipilotti Rist was born in 1962 in Grabs. Lives and works between Zurich and Somerset. After studying applied arts, illustration, photography and visual communication in Vienna and Basel, and founding the all-female klezmer pop band Les Reines Prochaines. Nominated for the Guggenheim’s Hugo Boss Prize NYC in 1998, in 2009 she won the Joan Miró Prize, She has also exhibited at Hayward Gallery London, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Fundació Joan Miró Barcelona, KIASMA Helsinki, MOMA New York, Centre Pompidou Paris, Reina Sofía Madrid, Venice Biennale 2011, 1999, 2005, 1997, 1993, Biennale of Sydney 2008, 2000, Istanbul Biennial 2007, 1999, 1997, Moscow Biennale 2007, Shanghai Biennale 2002, Berlin Biennial 1998, Biennale de Lyon 1997 and São Paulo Biennial 1994. 

Fani Zguro was born in 1977 in Tirana. Lives and works in Berlin. Zguro has studied at Accademia delle Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. In 2008 he won Onufri Prize by National Gallery of Arts in Tirana and Mulliqi Prize by National Gallery of Kosovo in Prishtina in 2016. He is part of the program Artist-In-Residence at Q21, MuseumsQuartier, Vienna 2017. He had exhibited also at Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin, National Museum of Contemporary Art Bucharest, CER Modern Ankara, Filmoteca Espanola Madrid, Docva Careof Milan, 2nd Tirana Biennale, 3rd Mardin Biennale, 4th Young Artists Biennale of Bucharest, Ludwig Museum Budapest, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Rijeka, Public Library New York and Centre Pompidou Paris.
