ESTE Arte is an international contemporary art fair launching in 2015. Taking place January 3–6, the fair coincides with the peak of the summer season, establishing January in Punta del Este as key moment on the art world calendar.
In an exclusive and innovative project, ESTE Arte 2015 hosts 30 leading galleries. The fair features an outstanding gallery program, exhibiting a selection of noteworthy modern and contemporary works, offering audiences the opportunity to discover the work of artists across geographies. Parallel to the world-class exhibition, the ESTE Arte presents a cultural agenda—a space for dialogue—including ESTE Charlas, “ESTE Focus” and the superb ESTE Tertulias, involving acclaimed artists and curators.
To be held annually, ESTE Arte is a cultural, economic and social event that supports the art market development in the Southern Cone and empowers both private and institutional collections. ESTE Arte is defined as a cultural reference, where the art system of South America meets, exchanges ideas and rises.
Programming highlights
“ESTE Focus“
In line with its mission of providing an intelligent, dynamic platform for international galleries, the fair has devoted a special stage of its program to a series of interviews to selected participant dealers.
ESTE Guías
This series of lively guided tours are aimed to inform the general public and to open channels of perception understanding of the contemporary artistic scene.
ESTE Charlas
With the participation of engaging collectors, international art professionals, and admired artists, this series of seminars look forward to contribute and to advocate for art education methods, art funding strategies and private and public collection policies.
ESTE Tertulias
Inspired by the 19th-century “salons,” the Tertulias are encounters organized in private venues, collections and homes, with artists, who are invited to present their work and creative methods.
In its commitment to connoisseurship, the fair will also launch the inaugural edition of ESTE Cuadernos.
