Architizer is hosting the inaugural Architizer A+ Awards Gala to celebrate the world’s best new architecture and honor the winners of the first annual A+ Awards. The event is hosted by Architizer CEO Marc Kushner and a host committee comprising architecture and design luminaries including Daniel Arsham, Yves Béhar, Barry Bergdoll, Thom Browne, Felix Burrichter, Tom Dixon, Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn, Todd Eberle, David Hallberg, Nicholas Kirkwood, Elle Macpherson, Monique Péan, Matt Tyrnauer, and David van der Leer. As a part of New York City’s first official NYCxDesign week, the Architizer A+ Awards is kicking off for the first time this year on Thursday, May 16th at Cedar Lake. The event will bring together mavericks and iconoclasts who have changed the way we look at the built environment around us.
Instead of celebrating one architect and making architecture into something rarefied and inaccessible, the A+ Awards celebrate the diversity of the world’s architecture. A total of 87 buildings, projects and structures won the Jury and Popular votes for each of the A+ Award’s 52 categories. A highly esteemed jury selected the Jury Winners, while the online voting public chose the winners of the Popular Choice Awards with an unprecedented 150,000 votes from all over the world.

In addition to the A+ Award Winners, Special Achievement Awards will be given to those who have raised the status of the architectural field. The Special Achievement Awards include the Architizer Lifetime Achievement Award, the Architizer Relevancy Award; the Architizer Do Good Award; the Architizer Advocacy Award and Building of the Year. The celebration will continue with an after party at the Top of The Standard at The Standard, High Line.
