Juana de Aizpuru Gallery is pleased to announce “For Sale,” the first solo show by Tania Bruguera in Madrid. For the occasion, nine performances by the artist will be for sale.

During the exhibition, the gallery will serve as a documentation and archival space where information about the pieces for sale may be accessed. The archive will be augmented by the new performances the artist will create at the gallery and in other parts of the world during the month of the exhibition.

There will be one work for auction: “New work that doesn’t exist – yet –“ which consists of a performance which has not been performed, nor conceived, but will be created and exhibited at a future date.

The collector of the performances will sign a contract for rights over the artist in terms of her time, availability and the exhibition of the piece.

Tania Bruguera is known internationally for conceptually challenging works that combine political strategy, social behaviour, rumour and production of utopia.

Her work has been widely exhibited in museums and galleries around the world including Documenta 11 and biennales such as Venice Bienale ed. 49 and 51, Sao Paolo, La Habana, Kwangju, Johannesburgo and Site Santa Fe. Her work is part of public and private collections in United States and Europe and Latin America.
