Artist and architect Tony Chakar, who lives in Beirut (Lebanon) recently held a solo exhibition in the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven (NL). At the Summer Academy, from July 30 until August 11, he is directing a course entitled On seeking incuriously.
Participants will explore the town together and discuss their discoveries, working with their preferred media—drawing, installation, video, performance, etc.—to give form to their ideas. The stimulating atmosphere of the Academy, with teachers and students from all over the world, offers students the opportunity of reflecting deeply on public space in general and specifically in Salzburg—the Fortress and the baroque Old Town on the one hand, the contemporary central European town on the other.
