Apply now for our three-year postgraduate programme
Admissions are now open for 2019 entry to the Royal Academy Schools, the RA’s postgraduate school of contemporary art based in central London. If you or someone you know are interested in reevaluating your fine art practice, in dialogue with a diverse group of contemporary artists, our free, independent postgraduate programme may be for you.
About the course
The Royal Academy Schools is run by artists, for artists. It offers three years of full time, studio based postgraduate study for between 14 and 17 artists each year, who want to form part of a group of motivated individuals aiming to develop artwork in an environment of discourse and investigation. We are able to work with each student on an individual and nuanced basis, and encourage a highly participative environment through group crits, artist talks and lectures.
Based at the centre of a historic organisation, with a strong community of artists, we value a diversity of attitudes and approaches. Our programme attracts individuals with distinct, diverse artistic identities who wish to develop and exchange ideas. We welcome artists working in all forms of media.
There are no fees and bursaries available.
See our Prospectus for more information about our programme and facilities.
