Paris Photo, the world’s leading art fair for the photographic medium, is now accepting applications for its first New York edition presented with Aipad April 2–5, 2020 at Pier 94, in midtown Manhattan.
The internationally recognized organization, which was founded in 1997 and welcomes more than 68,000 visitors in Paris, is bringing across the Atlantic its museum quality show and dense network of collectors, curators and avid enthusiasts. New York is a dynamic environment for the fair, which after autumn in Paris, will define the first event of the spring for a new community of artists and professionals in participation with arts organizations throughout the city.
The Show is open to galleries and photobook publishers representing artists whose work incorporates the diverse approaches practiced in photo-based art from its conception to today, from historical masterpieces to the latest contemporary trends, including film, installation and multimedia projects. Each application project will be thoroughly reviewed by a Selection Committee comprised of esteemed gallerists and publishers.
Galleries—Main Sector
Contemporary galleries and specialized fine art photography galleries from around the world are invited to submit their projects for the Show. Main sector projects focusing on solo, duo or thematic shows are highly encouraged.
Early registration for AIPAD members closes October 25.
Galleries—Emergence Sector
The Emergence Sector will spotlight new talent, offering seasoned collectors access to different visions in art with shows dedicated to the work of one artist.
With a special entry rate, this sector is aimed to provide younger galleries the opportunity to exhibit for the first time with a leading art fair.
Photobook Publishers & Art Book Dealers—Book Sector
The book has an important role in the conception of the work of photographers and artists and is an integral part of the show. This sector highlights rare, limited editions and avant-premier book releases. Signing sessions with leading artists are also organized as part of the official fair program.
