Il me faut tout oublier
This is the first joint showing in France of the work of sculptor Berlinde De Bruyckere (born 1964 in Ghent), who represented Belgium at the 55th Venice Biennale, and painter Philippe Vandenberg (born 1952 in Ghent, died 2009 in Brussels), two Belgian artists of different generations. Curatorship is by Berlinde De Bruyckere, who knew Philippe Vandenberg well and who has a longstanding interest in his work. Together with the Philippe Vandenberg Estate, she has selected paintings and drawings by the artist, which are shown alongside her own three-dimensional works and works on paper. For la maison rouge, and to echo Vandenberg’s work, she has produced seven new wax sculptures whose forms suggest tree trunks as much as bandaged bodies under duress.

L’asile des photographies
In 2010, Mathieu Pernot, photographer, and Philippe Artières, historian, were invited to work on the archives of Le Bon Sauveur psychiatric hospital in Picauville, Normandy.
They discovered hundreds of images, ranging from the 1930s to the present day. The finished project—an exhibition and a book—is less the history of an institution and more that of photography in the context of a hospital: an asylum for photographs.
