This spring, Dia’s Artists on Artists Lecture Series will host Shannon Ebner, who will discuss the photographs of the Bechers, and Haim Steinbach, who will discuss the work of On Kawara. The Readings in Contemporary Poetry series will feature Ron Silliman and Robert Fitterman; Jerome Rothenberg and Pierre Joris; and John Yau and Arlo Quint.

In anticipation of Thomas Hirschhorn’s Gramsci Monument, a conversation between the artist and Dia curator Yasmil Raymond will be held at Dia Art Foundation at 545 West 22nd Street in New York City on May 11.  Gramsci Monument opens to the public on July 1 and is the fourth and final work in Hirschhorn’s series of “monuments” dedicated to major writers and thinkers of the twentieth century; details here.

This spring, Jean-Luc Moulène’s Opus + One, a book that documents his recent presentation at Dia:Beacon, will be available at the Dia:Beacon Bookshop beginning March 2013 and is currently available for preorder at diabooks.org.

Established in 2001, the Artists on Artists Lecture Series invites artists to respond to an artist in Dia’s collection or programs.  The series presents a variety of perspectives that address specific works or methods.

Dia’s Readings in Contemporary Poetry series pairs poets from different generations to create a range of voices while exhibiting some of the most striking characteristics of contemporary poetry. The program is organized by poet and author Vincent Katz and Dia curator Yasmil Raymond. Books by the poets will be sold at the event and many titles by poets in the series can be found on diabooks.org.

All lectures and readings take place at Dia:Chelsea, 535 West 22nd Street, 5th Floor, in New York City.

Advance ticket purchases recommended.
Tickets are also available for purchase at the door, subject to availability.
