Now available for iPad, the frieze app contains specially commissioned films, audio clips and slide-shows, as well as all the regular frieze features and reviews enhanced by additional visuals. Exclusively commissioned content for the January/February issue of the app includes a video interview with legendary avant-garde filmmaker Jonas Mekas.  

A free sampler of the frieze app is available now, presenting highlights from the January/February edition alongside special extras, such as animations by Tala Madani, whose paintings and drawings are explored in the new issue. 

Featured in the January/February issue: 

House and Home: On the occasion of a major touring retrospective marking four decades of Robert Adam‘s photographs, Michael Famighetti considers the changing American landscape in the artist’s work. 

The Whole Thing: Cuban-American painter Carmen Herrera talks to British artist David Batchelor about her 80 years of making art: 
‘I love the straight line. I love it. It’s such a nice feeling, too. If some ink falls, I’m devastated.

My Influences: Eli Sudbrack of assume vivid astro focus writes about the people, places and artists that have influenced his collaborative multimedia practice. His choices range from Marvel Comics to trannies and from voguingto the natural landscape.
