Entry call for animation films/videos

The Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki, part of the State Museum of Contemporary Art, focusing on the promotion of new media and contemporary art techniques, organises the Animacall project scheduled for Spring 2011.

The aim of this exhibition is the presentation of contemporary animation short film (maximum 5′) realised by artists from all over the world. There will be special screening programmes, lectures and workshops, organised in the context of the exhibition.

This is the third open call offered by the Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki in the last years (Public Screen, 2007, I create therefore I am, 2008).

Deadline for submission is December 31, 2010. More info on www.cact.gr.

Entry conditions
Applicants must:
• fill in, print out, sign and send the application form by post and by email to the postal and email addresses below.
• send 2 film stills (jpeg 300 dpi).
• send a screening copy of the film in one of the following projection formats: DVD, MPEG, MP4, H264, MOV (more details in the application form)..

• The application form should also be sent by email on animacall@cact.gr

Other conditions
• Senders are responsible for the full cost of the transport to the Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki.
• The proposal files will not be returned to the senders and will become part of the Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki archive for possible future use with non-commercial value.
• The Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki will be responsible for the organization and promotion of the exhibition and for the publication of accompanying documentation material.
• Applicants grant the Contemporary Art Center of Thessaloniki the right to show part of their video/film (up to 3′) on television or internet.
• Submission of proposals means the acceptance of the conditions.
• The project accepts original language versions of animation films/videos subtitled in English.
• The applicants will be informed about the selection of the committee by February 20, 2011.
