The 27th edition of the contemporary art fair artbrussels takes place from Friday 24 to Monday 27 April 2009. 170 galleries from more than 23 countries offer an insight of the current international contemporary art scene. Click here for the exhibitors list.

Beside a strong gallery list artbrussels offers an exciting varied program: an outdoor exhibition, artist projects in the fair, debates on the art market, signing sessions by artists and other art world subjects. In a nutshell…

“Art in the City” @ the Egmont Park

“Artist Project” @ the fair

Seven women artists living & working in Belgium create a “site-specific” intervention at the fair. Some of the interventions are more ephemeral than others. Keynote: Pascal Cools. director of Flanders DC, will talk about the different initiatives and opportunities offered to heighten creativity and stimulate entrepreneurship within a company. Can these kind of initiatives make a bridge toward culture and arts?

“The Cosmopolitan Chicken Project within a broader context: art between science and ethics” (EN), Friday 24/04, 5pm-6.30pm: an initiative by Sint-Lukasgalerie, Brussels
