German-speaking Belgium has its own fine collection of contemporary art. The collection has been put together by the ikob, the Internationales Kunstzentrum Ostbelgien. The initial impetus came from donations and loans of their works made by more than 50 artists from Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Germany. Purchases and commissions have also played their part. The Centre for Fine Arts shows a carefully chosen selection, in a variety of media: installations, video art, paintings, sculptures, drawings, photographs, and graphic work.
With Works by Jacques Charlier, Ronny Delrue, Lili Dujourie, Günther Forg, Filip Francis, Dirk & Maik Löbbert, Antoine Prum, Johan Van Geluwe
Curator: Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Becker
Support: Deutschsprachige Gemeinschaft Belgiens & Communauté Française de Belgique
