ARTREVIEW MAGAZINE, WHICH HAS BEEN PUBLISHED IN THE UK SINCE 1949, WILL BE RE-LAUNCHING WITH ITS JULY 2006 ISSUE AND SERPENTINE GALLERY SUMMER PAVILION COLLABORATION
With a new look and feel and an entirely new editorial team, the magazine promises to be all that a contemporary art magazine should be. John Weich, the new Editor-in-chief explains; Contemporary art is daring and inspiring. The new ArtReview will reflect both these dynamics. Our goal is to bring contemporary art to a wider audience. This new approach will allow for more opinionated views and a broader editorial focus that not only covers contemporary art and its culture, but also how contemporary art directly inspires other creative genres. According to Weich, Contemporary art is at the forefront of almost every major creative evolution and revolution precisely because it is so uncompromising. We aim to capture this ethos.
THE JULY ISSUE FEATURES A SPECIAL SECTION
ON THIS YEARS SERPENTINE SUMMER PAVILION.
The pavilions creator, Pritzker Prize-winning architect Rem Koolhaas tells cover star Hans Ulrich Obrist about how it took him 30 years to learn to love London and why artists collaborations with architects are always overrated. For this issue, Obrist has also curated a paper exhibition, designed by M/M Paris and containing 40 leading artists predictions for the future.

Daniel Kunitz visits the Leipzig painter Tim Eitel as he prepares for an assault on New York. Chinese artist Wang Quingsong looks at confusions of capitalism and socialism as he discusses the problem of trying to visualise the countrys new social order. While for those preparing for the holiday season there is an under the skin view of the Zurich art world plus a look at the movers and shakers who are giving the Paris scene a new cutting edge.
