Assistant Professor: Time-Based Media with specialization in Moving Image Practice 
The Department of Visual Arts within the Division of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department invites applications for an artist with an art practice focusing on time-based media with an emphasis in film/video or a moving image maker.

The applicant’s creative approach should be conceptually rich and conversant with contemporary and emerging discourses around time-based art. The applicant should demonstrate a knowledge of film/video or moving image production technologies. We are looking for an artist whose time-based or moving image process connects with the avant-gardes, contemporary art, and critical & expanded approaches to the discipline. The applicant’s creative approach should be conceptually rich and conversant with the contemporary and emerging discourses of lens-based media art. The applicant should demonstrate a knowledge of analog and digital photographic practices, as well as an active engagement with evolving lens-based technologies. We are looking for an artist whose lens- based work might connect with the avant-gardes, contemporary art, and critical and expanded approaches to the discipline.
