Art Chicago will celebrate its tenth anniversary as America’s largest and most respected contemporary art exposition. This international exposition is expected to draw 35,000 art patrons. Over 200 of the world’s most exciting modern and contemporary galleries will represent the work of more than 2,500 artists from blue-chip to the emerging and radical.
International Invitational
Many of the Invitational participants made their inaugural appearances in the United States at Art Chicago 2001. Each of the galleries focus on a particular spectrum of current issues and trends that are electrifying the contemporary art world, presenting an exciting opportunity for curators, collectors, critics and artists to see the latest work emerging on the international art scene.
Project Spaces
18 artists were selected to have special installations located adjacent to their respective gallery’s booth within the exposition. These customized installation spaces will include gallery-sponsored projects involving two-dimensional artwork, sculpture, video, performance and electronics in any combination.
Metropolis
An exhibition of international artwork curated by Peter Doroshenko of the Institute of Visual Arts (inova) in Milwaukee. The 20 artists selected for Metropolis examine the tension between the urban and the individual, the collision of nature and artifice, and the changing parameters of large urban environments.
